This is a forum for Victoria renters. Feel free to ask questions or state opinions. I've been through four hearings with the resident tenancy office, and I'm very well versed in the rules and regulations governing Victoria and it's tenants.
The purpose of this blog is to voice opinions, ask questions, and generally just provide information to those of us in the Victoria BC rental market.
If I don't have the answers you seek, I will certainly do my best to steer you in the right direction, or perhaps someone else will know what you need.

ReplyDeleteBullshit!
-They do not have houses/suites for rent!!!
-they do not do anything but gather listing for you
-they do not help with the application process
-they do not guarantee that you will get housing
-they do not offer you a refund of the $75 fee, if you do not find a place by the time you need to be out of your old place
Landlords do NOT list their properties on this site
Using them in no way assures that you will find a place, it's actually just a bunch of crap.
Hello, just seen this link on usedvictoria.com. I am a landlord, but have been a tenant. I know there are many frustrations towards landlords, but I must say I try my hardest to be fair to those renting from me...and to be honest I end up with tenants that always seem to skip out on the lease, rent and have grow ops! Maybe I need to screen better but this renting thing is a two way street. I wish all landlords and tenants respected each other and the property. In another world maybe....even when my mortgage payments decreased because I made the effort to remortgage during this great interest rate time, I decreased the monthly rent amount - I dont want to make money off this unit, I just want to protect my investment and have people in my unit that enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteAnyways, I will go back to searching for the perfect tenants for my condo that the others have skipped out on a one year lease!
what's your pet policy? do you have any vacancies? We're looking
ReplyDeletethe building allows either 2 cats or one dog under 25lbs - it is listed on usedvictoria

Hello,
ReplyDeleteWould you happen to know anything about house insurance and whether a landlord has a legal right to impose this expense on the tenant?
It's my understanding that this is entirely the responsibility of the landlord.
Thanks!
LANDLORD ALERT!
ReplyDeleteTo all you landlords who might not realise:
Inflation is down this year, therefore your rentals should NOT be going up. Rental increases usually reflect whatever inflation is doing + an added 2%. So technically speaking, rentals should be going down. I don't see that happening anywhere.
